-
Expert training and advice from Rad Philanthropy
-
Experiential training with a cohort of peers
-
Develop your 2025 strategic and operating plans over the course of the workshop
What is the Rad Labs Strategic Planning Workshop?
The Workshop is a hands-on course that lasts for six weeks during Spring 2024. Meeting virtually, you will receive weekly training and coaching from Perry Radford, advancement pro. This training will bring together unit and program managers from a variety of institutions, so you’ll get the added benefit of learning from each other.
You’ll learn best practices about strategic planning in advancement shops. We’ll explore your organization’s culture and your individual leadership traits to find insights that complement your program knowledge, maximize your plans, and help you lead with influence. You will take what you learn to create your strategic and operational plans for the 2025 fiscal year, receiving feedback and coaching from Perry and your peers throughout the workshop.
What You'll Leave the Workshop With
Network
The workshop is conducted with a cohort of your peers. You'll make deep connections and learn from the varied experiences and programs of participants.
Plans are go!
In this workshop you'll learn by doing. You'll draft strategic and operating plans, refine them with the feedback of your coach and peers, and leave ready to implement them for the new fiscal year.
Free Coaching
We believe that you learn by doing, and strategy is only as good as what you've predicted. Since we don't have crystal balls, you'll receive two free coaching sessions after the workshop to use as you put your plan in action.
This workshop is for you if....
01
Life-long learner
Are you someone who is curious and always trying to better understand the "why" and the "how" of it all? Has your past planning been more focused on what activities you'll complete than why they form a coherent plan or strategy to achieve a specific impact?
02
Unit or program manager
You're a leader and responsible for an entire team, unit, or program. Here are some examples:

Programs: you're fully responsible for something like a day of giving or a homecoming weekend.

Team or unit: You manage a team or unit such as annual giving, alumni relations, or prospect research.
03
Ending your fiscal year
Does your fiscal year end and begin during the summer? This workshop is timed to help those wrapping up one fiscal year make plans for the next.
